THE NEST THEME

07-08 // Grey Area Sound were commissioned to compose the theme to reality lifestyle program and social experiment "the Nest". A six part series screening on SBS, the Nest explores the trend of young people choosing to stay living with mum and dad well into their 20's.

Three families were chosen after 300 applied to be on the program that explores the long-term impact of adult children staying in the parental home.

The theme is a lively mix of old and new with hip hop beats driving strings & harpsichord in a Munster-esque melody, light and dark enough to represent both the fun and heartbreak of family life.
